Quantified Risk Assessment

Risk assessment is crucial to manage safety and is enshrined in UK legislation: The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations include an explicit obligation on employers to carry out risk assessments.

Quantified Risk Assessment (QRA) is now a fundamental part of BS EN 50522 as applied in the UK: National Annex NB details its application to various earthing defects and also uses cost benefit analysis to help determine the need for mitigation.

ERM wrote the QRA section for BS EN 50522 and has the knowledge and experience to apply QRA techniques, e.g. Hazard Identification (HAZID) to the hazards associated with earthing systems. We use QRA as a decision making tool, enabling our clients to determine precisely where their resources should be targeted.
